| Why should I report suspicious activity to the hotline? Fraud prevention and detection must begin at the individual level. If the Company that you work for has made an effort to return to business principles of character and integrity, each individual should do their part in furthering this cause. What are the benefits of a company fraud hotline?
Why is it important to have an independent, third party monitor the hotline? An independent, third party establishes confidence that the reporters' identity will not be compromised. The perception in corporate culture today is that a company can track employee web access and monitor e-mails. Employees may not trust an internal line because of caller identification or voice recognition. What is the difference between "Anonymous" and Confidential"? If you submit a Confidential Incident Report, personal information that you provide will not be provided to your Company. Only information relating to the specified incident will be reported to your Company. Personal information submitted confidential will be retained by The Fraud Hotline, Inc. and used for follow up or investigative purposes. If you submit an Anonymous Incident Report under “Report”, you should not provide any personal information. No personal information will be provided to your Company. Only information relating to the specified incident will be reported to your Company. Why is educating employees about fraud prevention important? Management's emphasis on fraud prevention through education reinforces core company values of ethical business. Why is awareness the most important attribute of a hotline? Awareness enhances the "perception of detection". If employees know that there is a way to report suspicious activity, they will be less likely to act unethically. Additionally, if employees know that management will respect anonymity and values their input, they will be more likely to report an incident without fear of retribution. What are the consequences to not having an anonymous hotline? You will never know. |
